Guoman Hotel, Port Dickson

December 2008 is a busy month generally ... Somehow, there are always things to do during the weekends ... Trips, training, weddings, music play, etc ...

It kicked start with a training program conducted by company for the new AM. This year they sent us to the seaside, Guoman Hotel - Port Dickson.



I enjoyed training ... Nothing to do with technical, just some softskills ... Explorace, management game, performance, food, food and a lot of food ....

One of the game that I like to share is this management game : Gold of the Desert Kings.

Gold of the Desert Kings addresses the issue of effort versus productivity. Participants are placed in circumstances with limited time and resources and must rely on their team to achieve their goals. The pressures and anxiety experienced in Gold of the Desert Kings are similar to those experienced daily in a hectic work schedule. Participants contend with deadlines, a perceived lack of resources, others’ point of view and the pressure to just do something while trying to accomplish team objectives.

Teams rush to compete against each other in this challenging race across the desert. Their goal? Battle the elements to get to the mountains to mine for as much gold as possible and return home alive. Teams are forced to be as productive as possible with limited time and resources. Participants will experience the benefits of teamwork, planning, setting goals and taking necessary risks.

By the end of the game, my team was the last team to arrive home but we were not bad, No. 2 ... Initially, we thought that we would die rich, buried with all the golds at the King's Tomb ... ahaha ...

In the training, teams were asked to prepare a performance for the nite. The theme was Beach Movie. It was entertaining to see how people who always dealt with numbers came out with the ideas. We had the Movie Jaws (where the shark ended as shark fin in a bowl), Cast Away (where 'Tom Hanks' was rescued by Baywatch babes), Pirate of the Carribeans (where Captain Jack Sparrow was rescued by a local leng lui on a deserted island, accompanied with the Kuch Kuch Kota Hai music as the back ground music), etc .... My team, we danced, based on the movie Mamma Mia, Dancing Queen song... So long i didn't dance in front of so many people... I think since Kindergarten til now ... kekeke ... Memalukan :P



And this, so many years I didn't play the arcade game already ... I suck !!!! kekeke ... But, it was fun and my fingers were tired too ...

I really don't mind if they want me to send me to this kind of training again .... hhihihihi

A long break

It is time of the year again when I start to clear my leave again .... This would be the last time for me to have such a long break .... No more TOIL to clear .... Must enjoy this as much as possible ....

But, this is such a good feeling .... Away from the office .... What do I want to do now ? Continue sleeping? Why not ? ZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzz ....

A short break

I've been complaining and sighing a lot lately because of the work load and stress ... Seems like the peak period never ends ... Many times I feel like running away and leave everything behind ... Who cares about responsibility ? But, don't think i will do that ... However, nothing is definite. Who knows what will happen in the future ?

Today, suppose to be a working day for me ... But, when mom ask whether want to go Port Dickson. Of course yes !!!! It's like a christmas present for me ... Ekkeke ... I miss the beach already, especially when Su posted our trip pictures that brought back beautiful memories for me ...

Telok Kemang ... I don't like the beach, the sand is ugly and the water quite dirty too ... But, it's not as dirty as I imagine it to be ...

I remembered the theory when i saw this ... You will get married after flying kite with your dear dear not long after tat (:P) I wonder how true is that ...

Dissatisfied, we drove further down the road and came across this secluded beach call Blue Lagoon ... This is so much better than Telok Kemang ... I am happy today :)

I nearly lost my temper today ...

I was interrupted the whole morning and the work that supposed to be done by lunch time was no where at the complete stage. It dragged until the evening and there goes my plan for the day. So frustrated until I wanted to go home and hide to a place where nobody can possibly find me ....

Happy Mooncake Festival

While buying some lantern and candles at Jusco Midvalley with Cam yesterday, we talked to a lady ... The conversations as follows :

Lady : Haih, don't know whether i should bought this lantern... But, i feel like playing it but 'mm hou yi si' arr ...
CY : (Look at the lady and the '8' mode was activated) Why? What is wrong with playing with lantern?
Lady : There are no kids in the house. All also adult.
CY : Ohhhh .... Buy la buy la .... No rules say that only kids can play with it marr ... SHould buy it ...
Cam : Ya lorr ... Buy already can keep for next year also ...

Then, i suddenly i realised myself ... I didn't celebrate this mooncake festival for quite some time dy ... So long I didn't play the lantern already ... I still remember I use to play with my neighbours at the middle of the road. Besides candles and lantern, we also melted the candles and cooked the grass and leaves. When the heat or the fire is strong enough, we willl pour some water and the fire will become bigger ... Waaaa ... So exciting but dangerous ...

Although it's a short trip with the family, i had a lot of fun. Daytime Zoo Melaka is not bad at all, the animals are at a nearer. Not forgetting the food there ... And, don't know whether it's a visit Melaka day, i even met people i know from kl there ... Hahahaha ... What a small world !!!!

The start of today is not so great. Feel like i wake up at the wrong side of the bed. Had to wake up super early on a super good weather. Get lost on the way to uncle house. Nagged by parents early morning. Not having breakfast.

Something is wrong somewhere ... A friend even suggested me to circle one round to change the luck ... And, I did ... I turn around my chair ... Wakakaka ...

Well, it turn out not to be so bad after all. I stepped out of the office to go home at the earliest time today. It's the earliest this year, when mr sunshine is still round and bright... Not bad at all ... weeeeee :P

I've finally finished whatever I can for my filing during this hyper super hot peak period ...




Hopefully, everything will run smoothly tomorrow ... But, based on previous years' experience, there are always something happened on the last day. Be it my own stupid mistake or some unexpected incident ... Hopefully everything goes smoothly lerr ... Ommpphhhh ....

It's a special date... It marked the beginning of Beijing Olympics 2008... What did I do on this special date ??? Like most of the people spending time in front of the TV watching the spectacular opening ceremony???

Fish cake & wantan with some Thai sauce, a type of soup with garlic bread (yummy), braised lamb shank, baked baby snapper, chicken escalope, tiramisu and italian cream cake ... Not forgetting, some red & white wine...

Yupp! Having a good dinner with some friends, updating each other with juicy stories and news ... And, it all because of our dear friend, Kellyn, who registered that day... So, Mrs Tham, thank you for the dinner ... Enjoyed the time and food... Certainly a much needed break from our hectic life ...

It's the time of the year again when the amount of work is, is, ALOT ... I browsed through my 2007 entry and things like going to explode like a volcano and flying away from the planet earth basically explained it all. Mayday 离开地球表面 has been my favourite song during the period and this year I believe it will still be the choice especially when it's getting near to the deadline.


Let's hope I survived this round ... Wait, i shouldn't say hope. Die die also must get through it... Hope that it will be better than last year. I don't know how long i can take this but getting through this always something new to learn... Have to had a positive mind here ...

While on our way home yesterday nite, Mom told us they caught two young teenagers stealing things from the bookshop ... Not only one or two items, a few items ... Pens, books, files, CDs ... And, how old are they ??? Both only 13 years old ...

I am speechless. My parents were discussing whose fault would it be ? And, both of them agreed it would be the parents ... But, I don't really agree ... SOmetimes, it's just the person's nature to steal things. I'd seen a schoolmate who did that a few times and the schoolmate as I understand is from a loving family. And, although it's the responsibility of parents to teach their children, we cannot just blame everything to them... The children must also be accountable to every actions / decisions that they make ...
