Earth Hour 2009

Source : http://www.earthhour.org/

What began as a campaign to get Sydneysiders to turn their lights off, has grown to become one of the world’s biggest climate change initiatives. In 2009, at 8.30pm on March 28, people around the world will turn their lights off for one hour – Earth Hour.

Earth Hour started in 2007 in Sydney, Australia with 2.2 million homes and businesses turning their lights off for one hour. Only a year later and this event had become a global sustainability movement with up to 50 million people across 35 countries participating. Global landmarks such as the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, Rome’s Colosseum and the Coca Cola billboard in Times Square, all stood in darkness, as symbols of hope for a cause that grows more urgent by the hour.

Earth Hour 2009 is a global call to action to every individual, every business and every community. A call to stand up, to take responsibility and to get involved in working towards a sustainable future. Iconic buildings and landmarks from Europe to The Americas will stand in darkness. People across the world will turn off their lights and join together in creating the vital conversation about the future of our precious planet.

It's as simple as a flick of the switch. Just turn off your lights from 8.30 pm to 9.30 pm on Saturday, 28 March 2009.

Sunday Morning

5.15 a.m ... 起床啦 !!!

Instead of dating Zhao Kong's grandson longer, I decided to wake up to join MSSMKL-POAWKL 2009 : Merentas Desa Milo Power. My first and last run for year 2009 :P

Early morning at the Lake Garden, my stomach started to give me some problem. This is not a good sign at all. And, the queue to the toilet was damn long ....

In this race, I jog, I run, I walk, I slide, etc. So many actions in one race, pao ka liao. I didn't expect to have jungle trekking event at all. Well, there are some interesting things happened to me during the race :

1. There is one Istana Selangor at Lake Garden.
2. There are so many taman, for e.g. Taman Rusa, Taman Herba, Taman Rama-Rama. I felt like jumping up the tourist bus to tour around the garden.
3. An uncle was talking to me while walking up the hill. He said this hill really kns!!! So, I said, it's alright, walk slowly. After a while, the uncle suddenly sped up and since then, I can't even see his shadow at all ...
4. I usually need people's help in jungle trekking. But, today I helped people instead ... This is really an irony ... hahaha ...
5. Lastly, I told some kids I am nearly 30-year-old ... Learn to age gracefully :) In return, they said I looked like 21. Muahahaha ....

P/S: Now I need to wash my mom's shoe. And, anticipating muscle pain on my leggie and hand tomorrow. So, if you see me walk like an old lady, don't be surprise !!!!

HAPPY 情人 DAY !!!

FRIENDS

I've finally finished this old series ... 10 seasons ... Old but still loving it. It revolves around a group of friends in New York City, who live together for a long long time. Makes me feel good everytime I finished an episode.

In reality, I have a group too ... :)

Adults and video games

There is always a child deep down in there ... What will happen when all the children jumps out from the shell ? Detailed reports here ...

I really enjoyed that nite. The never ending WWE game... 123, hong luk tang ( kekeke, sorry that i cheated here :P) ...

年初二的夜晚 ...

Balik kampung has always been a tradition in my family during CNY and also Ching Ming. Usually, it would be the only time that we go back to my parent's hometown at Bkt Mertajam and Taiping. First 3 days usually spent at Dad's hometown, where I would meet most of the relatives, from granduncle to my little nephews. Games like mahjong, rummy, poker, etc. will be going on while others would chit chat here and there. The houses will be noisy, meriah ... The Ng's members, especially the older generation really have a BIG voice ... I think people who live 2 house away may hear our voices ...

This year was a bit different. We decided to go back to Mom's hometown on the 2nd day when granduncle decided to spend his CNY with his son at Kedah. And, Mom's house usually is a peaceful and quiet place. The name Taiping 太平 explains it all ...

I was getting ready to have a relax nite, with loads of ASTRO cny programme on that nite. As usual, being the last to bath, I'm on my way to the washroom. Suddenly, the lights flickered. After a few minutes, the whole house becomes dark. First thing on my mind was. "Oh no! Don't tell me no electricity tonite !!! The nite is still young ! I don't want to waste my precious nite doing nothing !!!"

After some inspections, we found that the wire, that is connected to the lamp post outside, was broken. We called the TNB and they promised to come to fix the problem tonite. Actually, I was sceptical that they are going to come. It's a public holiday nite. Are they really going to come?

Surprisingly, they did. Although they were late, I am thankful. They managed to fix it in half an hour. People were watching the guys, as though they were the circus :P (I maybe the worst of all, taking pictures. I think the neighbours expression would be like this =.=''' )

saviour of the nite (^_^)

By the time the problem was fix, it's already past midnight. Time to sleep. But, luckily I don't feel that it was wasted. At least, I got to see the stars on the sky. So beautiful. It has been a long time since few years ago at Penang beach ... Of course some funny memories started to come back to my mind (e.g the tissue papers incident, and also how we peeked at the neighbours fight from the windows ... ) Also, we actually chatted all nite while waiting for TNB guys ... Don't think we would do that if the TV was on all the time ... So, can I say it's a blessing in disguise ???

Things happen and there are always two sides of it ... So, it depends on how you want to see it. Which sides you want to see ... Indeed a special way to spend my 2nd nite of cny ...
